It is possible to identify that dead fly?
For scale each square is 5mm. is was found on august at Israel near a Solanum full of Aphids.

In this case: Eyes widely separated. Does not apply to all syrphids.

This site is very professional.

I has watching those Ischiodon visiting my garden. after the larva is well feed it crawl into the earth. here as a bonus image of Ischiodon aegyptius pupa.

Sorry, I have no better pictures. They are so quick it is almost imposibale to get a got image, especially with my old camera.
I uploaded those two.
