Apparently the Royal Entomological Society of London is selling damaged stock (but not badly damaged!) of some of its Handbooks, including several titles on Diptera.
If you go to http://www.royens...ions.shtml and click on the link to download the Handbook leaflet, it will explain how to buy them. With the British pound being so weak at the moment, this is a good time to purchase!
The handbooks involved include Mycetophilidae; Scatopsidae and Bibionidae; Tephritdae; Sepsidae; Sphaeroceridae; Phoridae; and Diptera larvae. The prices are very low.

Apparently the "damage" consists of a heavy mould smell.

Indeed, it does. Occasionally some other light damage.
