The wing pattern indeed looks similar and that species has been recorded in Austria. The leg coloration looks different compared the only photo I could find, with a distal small light ring contrasting with the overall dark femur ccw.naturalis.nl/...h=840#6193 Cheers, Lorin Font Color All requests are from the urban area of Vienna, if not otherwise stated. I agree with you, but you specimen could be quite fresh. As said, I don't know the species, its variation either. You can try to contact Kolcsar, I gess he knows the species well (send me a private message to have his email). Other Tipulid researcher fro eastern Europe could help also (it is appareatly not a rare species). Best, |
