A sad message that reached me though the Sciomyzid Workers network:

I regret to inform you that Dr. Kaupo Elberg passed away on Friday, 30th of August.
In accordance with his wish, public announcements and condolences have not been distributed.

Yours sincerely

Rest in Peace, Kaupo! I used to meet him many times in 1980s in Ukraine and Tartu (Estonia), where he worked in Karl von Baer's house. He told plenty of stories about his collecting trips to Kamchatka. I used to retell them impersonating Kaupo with his strong Eesti accent, especially those about his runnings into bears while collecting flies... We will be missing him.
