looks similar to Pneumia, but that genus hasn't been recorded in Austria so far City of Steyr, Upper Austria, late April

With the white spots along the wing margin it often is genus Pericoma. I think the species then is P. pseudexquisita based on the veins. But in mountaineous regios there also is genus Berdenilella with many species. They do not have black markings, are a bit more brownish, so here I think it is a Pericoma and not a Berdeniella. But be aware of some hard puzzles here! Pneumia not in Austria? That cannot be true. Edited by weia on 10-05-2026 22:54 'fieldguide' Psychodidae: https://www.at-a-lanta.nl/weia/Motmuggen.html |

At least 12 Pneumia species are known from Austria.
