Hello,
is this the mine of Phytomyza ranunculi? As I saw, there are unfortunately a few similar species.
Plant: Ranunculus acris

Hi Ingrid, it looks very good for P. ranunculi TumbsUp
ukflymines to P. runculivora:
"Forms an elongated linear mine with the frass grains are widely spaced, which enables distinction between this species and P.ranunculi, where the frass is in closely adjoining grains."

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
