Hello!

I spotted this Ichneumonid on Nov-01 at an ash at the forest here in Ostwestfalen/Germany. Length without Ovipositor about 30 mm. Does it belong to genus Dolichomitus? Thanks!

It loos very similar to Dolichomitus that I have here - but you probably won't get a species-level name because they are identified on the grooves in the tip of the ovipositor Smile

Hello, Chris!

Thanks! I assumed that that a species level ID would not be possible, but I was also not sure of the genus. Most Dolichomitus I saw here in the last years were even larger!
Best regards,
Jürgen

Pay attention that it could also be the genus Paraperithous!

It is sad news. I read him a month ago, as he replied to me about a wrong identification. He was brilliant, as always.
