Hutson, A.M. 1984 (RES Hippoboscid Handbook) mentions three genera of mites that occur on Ornithomya - Myialges, Microlichus and Strelkovicarus. I suspect these are [i[Myialges[/i], but I would need to see some specimens to be sure.

Fauna Europaea shows that several species of Myialges occur in European Russia, and Myialges anchora is also recorded from Germany.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
