Dear Forum, I found this male Merodon on the island of Rhodes, at the seashore near Kameiros, on 11_09_2018.
I know that ID-ing Merodon is nearly impossible from photos, especially in the Eastern Mediterranean, but what gives me some hope is that
I captured this specimen, so I can make any pictures necessary for a proper ID, or, better yet, can send it to anyone willing to take a closer look.

Thanks for any help or comment in advance!

Greetings,
Henrik

Yes, a male Merodon, but the specimen would have to be examined to identify it. And even that is sometimes difficult without a good reference collection...

Thank you! Would you be willing to examine it? I have the specimen. (It is somewhat damaged, that is. tthird antennal segments are missing on both sides.)

Best regards,

Henrik
