Cimbicidae_Cimbex americana is the correct name? Slovak Republic, Malá Fatra, approximately altitude cca 800 m a. s. l. Thank you very much for your help. Best regards. Fote date: 24. 05. 2018.

Hello Mucha Fero,

Yes, a Cimbex, but not C. Americana. That is a Nearctic species with partially red abdomen. This seems to be Cimbex fagi, which lives on Beech trees (Fagus sylvatica).

Greetings,

ectemnius

Wow, a male. It is quite difficult to find males of these large species in Slovakia. They are much less visible.
