This medium-sized robberfly (about 20 mm, more or less as a Bibio sp) was the last Monday at Batisielle's Lakes, in the hig Pyrenees, Huesca, Aragon, Spain. About 1800 meters high. Habitat: alpine lake, some exepmlars and always near the water.
What species can be?

It seems to be a female of a Cyrtopogon species. Yours.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
