Not Hydrellia - more likely a Philygria. It would help to know which Montserrat - Spain or Caribbean?

Hi Tony! Nice to hear from you. . Fly is from Montserrat, Caribbean. Interesting- what makes you think Philygria? Not Nostima because of the long dorsal rays?

Thanks for clarifying where the fly is from - I didn't recognise it as a European species. As it's Central American, there may be other genera that occur there, which I don't know, but it has a Philygria feel to it. Wayne Mathis is very familiar with the Caribbean fauna, and is best placed to say which genus (and perhaps species) it is.
