 Big male asilid with red legs and red genitalia

size: nearly 40mm long date: 24 June 2007 location: Fodele, Crete, Greece habitat: house garden (with pond), surrounded by olive groves and brushland It's most notable features were its red legs and red genitalia. I had also the impression that its head was small in proportion to the rest of its body... Sorry, but I didn't manage to get a shot of the wings. markop attached the following image:  [158.03Kb] |
