Dear forum people,

In 2012 I did an internship in a peat-swamp forest in Central Kalimantan, Indonesian Borneo. On Oct 4th 2012 I found this syrphid fly which I believe is a Ceriana species, based on some online searching. Could anyone please confirm this and (hopefully) is there any more classification possible to species level?
I only have this one picture. I reckon the fly is mimicking wasps of the subfamily Stenogastrinae, which were also occurring in the area.

Thanks in advance.
Stijn.

I believe this is Monoceromyia javana...after careful scrutiny of the overall body & antennal proportions, as well as the detailed positions and shapes of the yellow markings visible on the thoracic pleura, abdomen, head, legs...and barely (perhaps?) on the scutellum. Compare with the M. javana images on iNaturalist. For many more details (and links to keys, original descriptions, etc.) see my comments under this iNat post.

There is also a curated lateral image of M. javana here from the BOLD website.
