Hi everyone,

Who could tell me about the frequency of the fly Solva marginata in Benelux? Is it a rare fly?

Many thanks

Pierre-Nicolas

In my opinion it is not rare in the Netherlands. Of course, we have many poplar trees and larvae are found behind the bark of dead trees. Ihave seen them on many occasions, both as larvae, pupae and adults.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
