Hi tipulid gurus
I'd be grateful for identification suggestions. This tipulid larva has cropped up at several stream sites in the upper North Island of New Zealand. The abdomen has creeping welts like our Limoniinae craneflies Aphrophila or Limonia, but the pictured spiracular disc is quite different to these genera. Any suggestions?
P.S. rearing isn't an option - all specimens were preserved when found.
Thanks
Stephen
