Good evening,

In de Meinweg I collected some Epistrophe nitidicollis. I think there is not much special on that. Yet, one male has only two hairs on the scutellum black. The rest is yellow. I think there is variability in the coloration of the hairs on the scutellum, but how far does this go?

Scutellar hair colour works for most specimens, but it's better not to rely on this character only. I advise to use the key of Dockzkal & Schmid (1994) for more reliable characters.
