Does anyone have a key that could help me identify the species of Sargus and Pachygaster? Thank you!

Here you have the series of Fauna de France. Among the works also a key to the soldierflies, in French of course. It is rather old.
I have some keys in dutch and hungarian.

For Sargus, it is vol. 13. But the nomenclature changed. Sargus is called Geosargus and Sargus bipunctatus is called Chrysochroma bipunctatum.

I guess you would like to have the key to all Pachygasterinae. It is a bit bigger. I will see when I can scan it. My scanner is really slow, you know.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
