Smallish fly around 5mm body length taken yesterday South coast UK on a bamboo leaf - is it a Tachinid ?

looks more Sarcophagidae to me - big red eyes, appendix on medial vein..

Very interesting.

Amobia sp. (Sarcophagidae: Miltogramminae),
which are known parasitoids of Aculeata with nests in hollow stems (like.... bamboo !)
