Hi,
anybody can advise me some bibliography (or provide .pdf) for the identification of Western Palearctic Therevidae, especially for Southern Europe and Mediterranean area?
Thanks.

not sure.. but I doubt there is any key for mediterranean therevids. I know that there were some therevids experts in Spain and they not did see almost any therevids.
Nevertheless, try this genus key : http://home.hccne...vidae.html

the Lindner Book for Bombyliidae (145e) has also "Omphralidae" (Scenopinidae) and Therevidae Palaeartic keys (I remember a reference from one from Madeira) but not really new...
cheers

Although out of date, it would be worth downloading Seguy's 1926 Diptères Brachycères (Faune de France)

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
