Having sent Paul my one and only Platypezid to date I have just found 2 different species in my Beabies (mixed BeechxAbies forest at 1150 m) site here in Northern Greece, Malaise trap 3rd to 9th November 2008.

Anyway maybe this one can be determined from a photoas it is male.

Female Polyporivora, a dorsal view would help to decide which species.

Male - female whats the difference, which is probably why I am still single. Ah well I guess I had better go find the tube and the camera.

THERE is something odd in wing venation. Did you notice the triangle? Grin Another variation among the individuals! Smile
Look at the crossvein DM-Cu.

Believe it or not Jorge I did actually notice that when I keyed it out to family. Did you notice that I had a Ph. scutellaris with an extra F-bristle on one side in another post yesterdayCool. The world of insects is full of wierd individuals my friend.Grin

this is Polyporivora picta female, the triangle in wing venation is not so rare in Platypezidae.
