Hello!

Ist this a female of Platypeza consobrina for sure, or are there similar species? Running around on leaves in the garden this afternoon (northwest Germany). Length about 3-4 mm.

It looks like the illustration of female P consobrina in Chandler's Opetiidae & Platypezidae of Europe.

Please post to gallery with note to say possible Platypeza consobrina - thanks Smile

I would do it, but there are already pics of this species in the gallery, and I think they are better than mine.
Best regards,
Jürgen

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol
