Hello forum,

Is it possible to identify this fly?
I thing it is Bibio lanigerus but I'm not sure. Thanks.

Hmm, I don't know for sure, but I get to a similar place in my key but I think the hairs on the thorax look dark, not white as they would be in lanigerus. An alternative might be hybridus but it would be nice to see the specimen because hair colours and vein colours are tricky to judge from a photo Smile

That one certainly looks white enough Grin Strange how just a change of light can have such a dramatic effect.
