Hello,
this fly (body legnth : 6,3 mm) was caught running across the ground in the vegetable garden; it had just completed its larval stage and I then took photographs of it.

Together with the team from the ‘World of Insects’ forum, we’re unsure whether it belongs to the Sarophagidae or Tachinidae family.

Is it possible to identify the species as well?

Thank you in advance for your advice.

Christian

It is sad news. I read him a month ago, as he replied to me about a wrong identification. He was brilliant, as always.
