Suilllia fuscicornis?

I found this female Heleomyzidae, and I doubt wither it is Suillia bicolor or the much less common S. fuscicornis. I caught it in humid grassland. Especially the small black hairs on the scutellum make me doubting whether it is S. bicolor: wthat species is supposed to have only tiny white hairs on the scutellum. Thanks to your key, I found that a very easy difference between S. bicolor and S. fuscicornis is the size of spikes on the costa. Small in S. bicolor (= about as long as the width of the costa) or long and strong (easily twice the width of the costa). So, my fly is a S. bicolor. |
