I am having difficulty identifying this asilidae photographed in South West France (South west of Narbone) I first thought it was Leptarthrus brevirostris but I don't think it is. Can anyone help ? Thank you.

I don't understand why the picture will not attach... it is 298Ko and title does not contain any big characters or spaces or numbers...

I have noticed that my system had saved the image in TIF instead of JPEG... I will therefore try again and hope it works

There is a special subforum for Asilidae (better to attract the specialists' attention).

Hi,

Asilidae is correct but not the right species. This is a Heteropogon, a female.

Best,
Jonne
