Hello, this Suillia was collected the 20th of August 2022 in Ede, the Netherlands, in a muddy area. I took a lot of pictures and placed them here: https://waarnemin...377384018/ Trying to ID it, with this online key based on Withers (1987) I would arrive at Suillia imberbis. https://dipterists.org.uk/sites/default/files/scheme-files/Withers%20illustrated%20key%202024.pdf I was not sure if there was a broad or small median area on the scutellum bare. So I prepared the genitalia to make a conclusion but it did not help me out, because: - The left and right surstylus seem to fit S. laevifrons - The aedeagus seems to be different from the drawing of laevifrons. Can somebody help? (first picture is the right surstylus) nielsyese attached the following image: ![]() [46.95Kb] Edited by nielsyese on 23-10-2025 19:48 Best wishes, Niels-Jan Dek |
