Hi, this Ephydridae is of a small size: 1.5 mm . Moreover, Lemna are presents on our ponds. However, this Hydrellia was observed on Nymphaea . Is-it Hydrellia albilabris ? All my thanks for you reply. ![]() Jean-Michel GAREL : France : Brannay : 89150 : 31/07/2025 Altitude : NR - Taille : 1,5 mm Réf. : 362598 ![]() Jean-Michel GAREL : France : Brannay : 89150 : 31/07/2025 Altitude : NR - Taille : 1,5 mm Réf. : 362599 ![]() Jean-Michel GAREL : France : Brannay : 89150 : 31/07/2025 Altitude : NR - Taille : 1,5 mm Réf. : 362600 |

H. albilabris has a black, shining dorsum, with very little dusting. It also has a dense black frons, so I don't think this is albiabris. The best way of identifying Hydrellia is to dissect a male.
