Bibio hortulanus?

Bibio hortulanus from israel.

This one looks like female but when I checked for valid name on www.sel.barc.usda.gov it was written that Bibio hortulanus Muller, 1776 is invalid name. It seem this sp. had splite to 6 new var.
Does you know what var. is in the photo?

You misunderstood the website, but that is understandable.
It says that Bibio hortulanus by Mueller is unavailable, because... Bibio hortulanus by Linnaeus preceeds it. However, the last name is not mentioned, which is a mistake.

Anyhow, Bibio hortulanus by Linnaeus is totally sound, as far as I'm concerned.
