This extremely looking Scathophagidae male was found by Micha d'Oliveira in Mongolia at 1100 m. asl. last year on august 9th.
It has extremely long golden hairs on genitalia and as well an long golden beard as well.
Note the aberrant wing venation with an additional crossvein, this seems to be an aberration, since the female does not have this.

I'm not really into Scathophagidae, should be pretty obvious for someone with Asian interests.

Thanks

Theo

The rather similar Pogonota barbata also has the additional cross-veins (only in the male).

thanks, Tony ! clearly a match, at least at generic level
and Ozerov did a review, so we are getting somewhere.

It indeed keys out to P. barbata in Ozerov and it seems a perfect match.
