I highly recommend this book. It is a very good reading. It talks about sleeping of the flies.. Smile it talks about the huge importance on genetics using flies (e. g. Dobzhansky, Morgan, etc).
The section on the Hawaiian Islands was also quite interesting, referring about the biggest biodiversity among the drosophilids.

I'm pretty sure you will like to read that book.
