I found several of these fly puparia in medieval latrines from Copenhagen, Denmark. Anyone know what genus or species it belongs to? About 2 mm long.
Found them in samples with Fannia scalaris, Thoracochaeta zosterae, Ischiolepta pusilla, Muscina stabulans, Limosininae spp., Hydrellia spp. - and others if that helps. It may not have anything to do with faeces as all kinds of organic material was dumped in the latrines.

Hmm yes - it does resemble Phytomyza chaerophylli although it is not that species. Might not get any closer. Thanks
