Northern Germany, Schleswig-Holstein, Pinneberg-Waldenau near Hamburg, between a housing estate and an edge of the mixed forest Klövensteen (near by oaks, beeches, maples and pine trees). I caught it and shot a few photos at home. But the fly didn't like it and flew away before I could take a lateral shot. 16th of October 2021. Photos: kuv.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
