Don't know if you're going to be able to help on this one. Unlike most of the Syrphidae I've been photographing, this one was just too modest to open his wings and let me get a good shot of the abdomen Angry. Have you any ideas?

Certainly a species of Melanostoma. Based on the dust pattern on the head, my guess is M. scalare.
