Hello,
I tend to ID this as Graphocephala fennahi. however Colour pattern is strange and does (?) not fit in anything??!

Do pattern depend on age, temperature, genus?

Size: 2-3 mm, Found: Schwetzigen, Germany, 11 oct 20

Any expert who may help?

Regards

Lothar

Hi Lothar, I agree - a strange pattern for Graphocephala fennahi but common for Zygina tiliae.

Hi Eric,

as there are at least 16 species of Zygina in Germany, several of them with a similar pattern, how do you arrive at Z. tiliae without knowledge of the host plant? At the moment Z. flammigera is very common here (on Carpinus etc.).

@Lothar: Graphocephala fennahi measures 7-9 mm. The one below I did not find on Rhododendron in our garden (as usual), but on Rubus fruticosus agg next to a forest path three days ago.

I will try to fix the messages this month. We have to make some other configuration changes before software goes out of support at end of year.
