Hello,

I found this fly in Northwest Germany on a meadow, size about 3,5 mm, photos on 24.09.2019.
According to Jürgen Peters in the Insektenfotos.de-Forum it could be a Diastatidae.

Regards, Konrad

Hello Konrad,

It is a teneral specimen of the Milichiidae genus Desmometopa. Wing venation, habitus and black 'M' shaped mark on frons all point to this. I'd dare not say which species this is, because its so teneral. The white haltere may become dark after drying.

Kind regards,
Ectemnius

I will try to fix the messages this month. We have to make some other configuration changes before software goes out of support at end of year.
