What a peculiar critter! Eudasys ophrys Whittington, 2003 (Platystomatidae, Plastotephritinae). Apparently not recorded from Gabon (known from Nigeria (type loc.), Cameroun and Zaire). Compare with some images from the original description (Studia Dipterologica Suppl. 12, p. 120 ff.)
