Out walking today I was suddenly surrounded by some small flies which I may think are some kinda Hymenoptera. They were attracted to some small blue pinkish flowers along the shoreline of Torrevieja in SE Spain. Maybe someone knows more about these about 5-6mm species?

Hi thalassarachna,

definitely a Hymenoptera, I'd say a bee, habitus-wise maybe in the tribe Anthidiini.
But I'm not sure at all, I've never seen such a thing with only red abdomen...

If you want, try forum.hymis.de

Best regards,

Marc
