| Huge fly from South Africa, please help with ID. | |

It is definitely a Gyrostigma rhinocerontis I wish I got better photos but the fly was too large for my usual MP E 65mm macro lens and I had to use a 180mm macro without proper flash diffusion. It is quite fitting that I found it in the Black Rhino Game Reserve (a part of the Pilanesberg Game Reserve). Glad it is a Rhino bot fly and not a human bot fly!  |
