Hi all,

This for a start looked like Xylota segnis until I saw the golden hairs on it's abdomen. I have found some pics of Xylota sylvarum which suggest it could be that, but I am no expert so would appreciate a positive ID. Thanks!

Location: Lincoln UK, in my garden on a white-flowering Hydrangea leaf.

Date: 30th July 2007

I think you are right. There are not many alternatives where you are (if any at all).
