Hello,
Is my assumption correct?

I found this fly also in Germany, Hadamar, in the "Rose Garden", 26.05.2016.

Even though the important wing venation is hardly visible, I'd say Merodon equestris. Blera has no yellow hairs on the thorax, bare eyes, and a different face.
