Habitat: Garden, sunbathing on Syringa vulgaris.

I only managed to take one photo of this male syrphid. Any help with ID much appreciated. I've looked through the gallery and see two that looks a bit like my fly, Epistrophe melanostoma and Syrphus vitripennis ... but the antenna isn't orange as in melanostoma and the face of vitripennis isn't white as my fly's ... This fly seems to have hairy eyes. Perhaps another species in these genus'!?

Edit: Subject changed (Epistrophe or Syrphus?)

Hi Crex,
Syrphus torvus would be the correct ID with hairy eyes.

Greetings.
Stephane.
