A friend of mine asked for the detrmination of this subjet. Photo taken by R.A.Pantaleoni at Padru, OT, northern Sardinia, on July 20th, 2002. Length 17,5 mm.
Subfamily Laphriinae?

This is interesting...... Keyed out to Laphria benardi description fits perfectly including brownish third antennal segment. According to Engel known from Corsica. The species is now regarded as a subspecies from L. bomboides and according to Fauna Europeae only known from French mainland(?)

It seems to me there is a lot of work to do in Southern europe and that is exiting.
