Hi,

Please could anyone help to id this? found in rural sussex uk ...maybe 5mm.
It was great watching ...it appeared to be dancing the hokey cokey,in a kosak drum + bass style ...if that helps.

rhamphomyia sulcata group, either sulcata or cinerascens. Probably the former, but that would be easy to determine if a dorsal view of the wings was available. The latter has a darkened anal lobe.
