Tabanidae, Atylotus sp., male, ID by Sergiy Filatov, would another pic or information help for further ID? and is there a special habitat or hostplants the Sp. uses, and why does it has such huge eyes??

The females of most Tabanidae are bloodsuckers of warm-blooded animals while males feed on flower nectar.Unfortunately, I'm not an expert to go further with species, especially in the case of males on which i dont have expirience at all. So wait for expert opinion (Theo Zeegers). And the eyes so huge all the better to see females with, I assume.Cool

Dear diermenjan, you should to change the title of your topic on Atylotus sp. to attract experts. I think your animal is Atylotus loewianus or A. fulvus.
