My money would be on Sarcophagidae - red eyes & 3 black stripes on the thorax ... and if so then it'll be virtually impossible to go further from a photo

I did not guess. I had the gut feeling it was it precisely Sarco due the combo of features we can find on them: traffic red eyes, 3 strong and long stripes on scutum, the general jizz, as well. But there are pitfalls as Exorista larvarum... (very sarcophagidish fly but a REAL Tachinidae) for example.
