Have a nice Day. One Question please. Is this an unidentifiable species of Tachinidae? I would be very grateful for an answer. Location data: Austria, Lower Austria, Tattendorf, 220m, flowering meadow next to riparian forest, 1.6.2025, size 7-9mm Kind regards Karl karl7 attached the following image: ![]() [160.48Kb] Edited by karl7 on 27-01-2026 12:23 |

Eric thank you for the Answer. It looks very similar to the genus Brachicoma. Therefore, perhaps Sarcophagidae sp.? Kind regards Karl. Edited by karl7 on 27-01-2026 12:23 |

Hello Karl, I don't think it looks like Brachicoma (e.g. the setae on parafacial are not present - or not visible...). But you will be save with Sarcophagidae sp.
