Hello,

I tracked this down to a close Macrorrhyncha flava, but the cross vein near the base of the wing doesn't appear to be in the same place.

Size I think ~4mm, the pollen beetle in the pic is usually ~2mm. On Feverfew Tanacetum parthenium in my garden near Lincoln UK on 20th June.

I think this is in Keroplatidae but I found the genus on Drawwing in Mycetophilidae.

This is Keroplatidae, Orfeliini (M-Cu present, base of M weak or absent, R4+5 forked, antennae normal, branches of Cu not convergent near base).

Some of drawwing's drawings come from Manual of Nearctic Diptera, which treats Keroplatidae as a subfamily of Mycetophilidae.

Macrorrhyncha has along proboscis, which is clearly not present here.
