Please help ID. I suspect this is a common easy one... this is the only image I have of this individual.

I'm not sure - possibly - but might also be something like Chrysotachina ... I'd need a specimen to be sure

pity that subscutellum is not visible here. very plumose arista, strong pulvilli, abdomen not too much bristly, vittae present in thorax - typical for Sarcophagidae, also the red-traffic colour of the eyes. But it is Colombia.. and that's why it would be interesting to check if it has subscutellum.. Has Chrysotachina plumose arista? Edited by jorgemotalmeida on 21-07-2011 19:40 |

Hmm, I wasn't sure that it had a plumose arista in these photos ... Chrysotachina shouldn't have a plumose arista
