I have swept some specimens of this tephritid from the plant species Otanthus maritimus in Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal (29/06/2011). What can be said?

Sorry, Saeed, you will win the next time. This is Tephritis stictica Lw. (see the differences from T. hyosciami in Richter, 1970 or Hendel, 1927). This is a monophagous species associated with Otanthus maritima in maritime dunes of W Mediterranean Region. Again, Rui, please submit it to the gallery. Val |
